clearing around lunchtime and as we head through the afternoon in the hilltops out toward mt. hamilton and north bay northern sonoma county might see an isolated shower during mid afternoon hours with the heating of the day and partly cloudy watching the sunset later on. the storm system we're tracking here coming in for tuesday is a potent one. you can see the cold front offshore spilling in now jumping ahead to tomorrow's forecast. morning commute is fine but toward the afternoon and evening you can see you're starting off in the north bay as that cold front comes in moderate rain and cooler air aloft wile keep showers going tuesday night into wednesday and maybe during the day with some daytime heating we could get isolated thunder during wednesday afternoon's forecast. the storm coming in for tomorrow into wednesday should get us close to a half inch of rain in parts of the north bay and maybe around a quarter inch of rain for most inland locations around the bay area. winter storm watch in the sierra today. dry commute if you are heading up to high country today. by tomorrow on in

hamilton is included. a chance of a couple inches of show. so the sky is clear tomorrow. look off to the east around south hamilton. taking with it to the south. we will see a slight chance of showers around san jose for the morning. and then for the afternoon, some instability showers on the higher hills here of napa county and then, after that, the slate is clean. the computer model is picking up on that and perhaps into the early partings of your morning commute for the south bay. and then in the afternoon, some isolated showers and then things calm down. we look to the weekend and will see some warming conditions. great news for the ski report. 10 inches of new snow and we'll continue to see snow showers there in the sierra even into early saturday. as we can see, temperatures mainly in the upper 50s. low 60s tomorrow, maybe close to 70 by sunday. so some ramdpidly changing conditionings here. sunday, when we lose the hour of sleep, it's going to be pretty outside. we'll have 60s and 70s coming back. some going for mid 70s in the valley. so we've got snow around the hills righ

to be the big story. we are live in novato where the power has gone out to some businesses here at hamilton marketplace, namely, two or three restaurants at the very end of the strip mall. the storm has also caused problems in the santa rosa area where crews are dealing with the downed tree. that downed tree blocking california story and gates road, with high winds not only taking down the street but cables phone lines and power lines came down with it, and it happened at at 1:15 this morning. fire crews are on the scene trying to politic it and move the tree out of roadway. it is not known how many could be without power. check this out, the drive across the golden gate bridge was very dicey, and treacherous this morning, this video was shot a short time ago when heavy storm cell was moving across the span with winds gusting over the spokesman, as well, and this was our drive through petaluma this morning, 101 north, rain hitting the wind hold past and furious and if you are driving out there, if you are starting the commute to work, anywhere in the north bay or the bay area, be careful. t

around mt. hamilton and north bay and may see isolated showers through the afternoon. hour by hour, by lunchtime low 60s inland. with winds onshore not going to warm up much. tomorrow a little bit of cooling as more clouds fill in and then rain and thunder on wednesday. tuesday and wednesday look to be the most active days with showers into thursday. and then we'll warm up and clear out. breezy at times for the upcoming weekend. >> folks, we have the backup steadily building at the bay bridge toll plaza. look at this close-up shot. we do see that the third cash lane from bottom of the screen is closed right now and that's causing extra delay over on the left side of the toll plaza. the right side of fastrak lanes is typical backup and you should see metering lights turn on and everyone will fill in every the next 15 minutes. we'll track that and look at the approach to the east shore freeway not a problem marked with arrow. incline and commute direction over toward san francisco side which shows your typical bit of slowing there. we'll get a look also as we travel toward the tri-va

hamilton. during the day tomorrow you may notice it. we lose the instability, the showers shut down and from sunday evening it looks dry. maybe drizzle monday morning, but it's really tuesday night, wednesday that we'll see the next system come in. we'll see a lot more rain. the weather model is picking up a little bit of rain out there. snow levels in the sierras pretty high. nothing falling at lou canyon. that's good news. we'll get a lot more but the thing coming in fur tuesday night into wednesday, a pretty moderate storm for the middle part of the week. 40s and 50s. mild, kind of muggy out there. a good 10-degree drop for temperatures which in some place did rebound into the 70s. mid 60s in plesanton and north 60s around the bay. so the forecast will give us a chance of showers at times into tomorrow. there comes the break and then an evening commute. tuesday night on into wednesday. dropping temperatures. about a foot of snow in the sierra. thursday, a few more showers and we clear out and warm up just in time for wednesday. so much needed rain and snow. >> everybody's happy.
